God has done great things throughout the history of Evergreen West. Together we’ve reached friends and neighbors, participated in mission trips, and helped plant two additional locations in the Twin Cities (the Rock and the Urban Refuge) as well as The Rock in Berlin, Germany. Ordinary, everyday people are becoming extraordinary, devoted followers of Christ! By the power of the Holy Spirit, we’re becoming a living example of Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
We thank you now, and God will reward you forever! We know that our journey has not been without pain, but God has led us throughout our history. Before we even had our first service in New Hope, God gave us this promise from 2 Kings 19:30, “The surviving remnant of the house of Judah will again take root downward and bear fruit upward.” We are now seeing this promise fulfilled! People in this church are taking root in their faith and bearing fruit with their lives!
“Take Root, Bear Fruit,” our campaign to purchase, maintain and operate our current facility in New Hope, will strengthen our ability to reach un-churched people, serve our community, grow disciples, and build a strong foundation for future church planting. God has led us to this facility in a miraculous way - His hand is clearly on it. In the coming weeks, we have the opportunity to join Him in what He is doing and willingly trust Him in this next exciting adventure.
Our great desire is to fulfill God’s purpose, which requires faith and sacrifice. Jesus said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” (John 12:24, NASB) While Jesus was referring to His own sacrifice, He calls us to imitate Him. We must be willing to die to our own desires in order to bear much fruit for the Kingdom of God. This may mean giving generously to the campaign while at the same time doing something as simple as scooting over in your “reserved pew” to accommodate a new person!
This site contains information that will help you understand the need and how you and your family can participate. Please read each piece carefully and seize this opportunity by spending time seeking God. Talk with your family and small group about what kind of faith step you might take. Let God grow your faith! Let your children see your sacrifice! Claim His promises and experience God in a new way!
The amount that you give is not as important as faith and obedience. We will trust God together for the results.
“Take Root, Bear Fruit” is now before us. Bearing fruit will require great faith and sacrifice, but God will glorify His name by working through us. If we unite and give sacrificially, then our new church home will become a reality. May we bear much fruit!
Your Servants,
Mark and Doug
